Hello! Becca & Nick Van Liere here! We started Rise in 2015 in our little apartment downtown GR, and we are continually enamored with gratefulness for what it’s become. Thank you for being here and supporting our family owned business.

A little about us…

We’re an allergen friendly bakery located on the West Side of Grand Rapids. Everything (yes, everything!) that we make is vegan, gluten free, soy free, dye free, and free from artificial flavors and sweeteners. 

Daily, we have a variety of pastries (donuts, muffins, scones, bagels and more), as well as cake, cupcakes, tarts, and other desserts. We also have a savory food menu that rotates seasonally! Check out our “Order” tab to place a custom order for cake and more, or a catering order for the office!

We also offer wedding cakes and desserts, so check out the “Weddings” tab to start planning your special day with us!

We’ve partnered up with Squibb Coffee at our shop to provide y’all with fresh coffee, tea, and espresso beverages.

Here at Rise, we’re committed to ensuring that ALL are welcome here. Not only do we intentionally offer allergen friendly desserts so that all are welcome at the table, but we also welcome and affirm our LGBTQIA+ customers and staff and want you all to know that you are safe here. Our mission statement is “Come as you are, have a seat at our table”, and it’s our goal to live that out metaphorically and literally as we grow our business.

We recognize our responsibility as a local business to be community-empowering in any way we can. One way that we support the Grand Rapids community is through our Community Donut Program. Each month, we partner with a local organization to fundraise and support their mission by donating $1 per Community Donut sold. Stop in and support your community and enjoy a donut while you do it!
